Convert your files.
Without giving them away.
Word to PDF, PDF to Word, images to PDF, audio out of video — all handled on your own device. Your documents never touch a server, because there isn’t one.

Most free converters are websites
Which means the first thing they do with your document is take a copy of it. Formutate skips that step entirely.
A typical online converter
- 1You pick a file
- 2It uploads to a company's server
- 3It is converted and stored there
- 4You download the result
- 5You trust them to delete it
Formutate
- 1You pick a file
- 2Your phone converts it
- 3The result is saved on your phone
There is no upload step to remove, because there is no server. Put the phone in airplane mode and every tool still works.
Eight tools, all on-device
No account. No upload. No queue. No watermark.
Word to PDF
Turn .doc and .docx documents into clean, shareable PDFs.
.doc.docxPDF to Word
Get an editable .docx back. Scanned pages are read with on-device text recognition.
.pdfVideo to Audio
Copy the audio track straight out of a video — no re-encoding, so it is lossless and fast.
.mp4Image to PDF
Combine any number of photos into a single PDF, in the order you choose.
.jpg.pngMerge PDF
Join several PDFs into one. Pages are transplanted, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable.
.pdfSplit PDF
Separate a PDF into one file per page, delivered together as a single .zip.
.pdfPDF to Images
Render every page to a PNG at roughly 150 DPI, bundled into one .zip.
.pdfImage to Text

Why on-device matters
Privacy here is a property of how the app is built, not a promise in a policy document.
Nothing is uploaded
Conversion runs on your phone's own processor. Your files never leave the device, so there is no server to breach and no retention policy to take on trust.
Works offline
No connection is needed to convert anything. The network is only ever used to load ads.
No account
No sign-up, no email, no password. Open the app and convert.
Your originals stay put
Every conversion writes a new file. The one you picked is never modified or deleted.
Questions
Are my files really never uploaded?
Yes. There is no server component to Formutate at all. Every conversion, including text recognition on scanned pages, runs inside the app on your device. You can put the phone in airplane mode and every tool still works.
Why does the app ask for internet access then?
Solely to load advertisements, which is what keeps the app free. Conversions never touch the network.
How accurate is PDF to Word?
Text is recovered reliably. Complex multi-column layouts, tables, footnotes and unusual fonts may be repositioned or simplified — that is a limitation of the formats themselves, not of this app in particular. Always check the result before relying on it.
What about scanned PDFs?
If a page is an image rather than real text, Formutate runs on-device text recognition on it automatically. Accuracy depends on the scan: sharp, straight, well-lit pages in a common typeface work best. Handwriting is unreliable.
Does extracting audio lose quality?
No. The existing audio track is copied out of the video as-is, without re-encoding, so the result is bit-for-bit identical to the source audio.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not today. Formutate is Android-only for now.
